A production cel and background setup from an unknown production. Featuring a group of natives running with tomahawks in hand, the setup appears to have been created at the Warner Bros Studio during the animation process. The depiction of the natives as “savages” would be a common stereotype for the time. The image’s demeaning portrayal would not be replicated for comedic use today, making this a socially relevant marker of past norms. Measuring 9.25”x12.25”overall, with the character image measuring 8.25”x10.5”, the unidentified setup is in good condition with the cel stuck to the background, some paint transfer to background, the cel has most likely had some restoration, small areas of paint loss and lifting, and cel ripping from age.
